The goal of Digital Media is to facilitate the exploration of the intersection of technology, arts, and media through creative production. These are projects-based courses and will provide students from with the opportunity to develop and design digital media projects. Students will learn technical skills, but more importantly, they will learn how to think critically, artistically and conceptually about the practice of digital media production. The field of Digital Media is among the fastest growth areas with increase in employment growth of approximately 20% for the next 5 years according to the Department of Labor. Most workers in this area are contract workers or self-employed and are hired based upon their skill set and evidence of work through an e-portfolio. Digital Media Courses
Consists of specific competencies/skill sets and software areas: 1) Graphic Design - Adobe Photoshop CC 2) Animation - Adobe Flash Professional CC 3) Audio Production - Adobe Audition CC and Garage Band 4) Video Production - Adobe Premiere Pro CC 5) Web Design - Adobe Dreamweaver CC Digital Media 1 and Advanced Digital Media Grading Category Weights per quarter based on 4 quarters/2 semester year Participation/Exercises: 12.5% Projects: 37.5% Quizzes: 12.5% Tests: 37.5% ----------------------------------------------------- Final State CTE Exam: 20% of final grade Digital Media 1 and Advanced Digital Media Grading Category Weights per quarter based on 2 quarters/1 semester year Participation/Exercises: 25% Projects: 40% Quizzes: 15% Tests: 20% ----------------------------------------------------- Final State CTE Exam: 20% of final grade |
