Meet Ms. Gallup
Ms. Gallup welcomes her students to the Mac lab classroom for Digital Media to explore "capturing your world" digitally and creatively! Digital Media 1 and Advanced Digital Media are "Trade and Industry" courses, and part of the Career & Technical Education division within the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Ms. Gallup's teaching responsibilities for Digital Media include: Graphic Design, Web Design, Animation, Audio-Editing and Video Editing to a diverse cultural population of high school students - 9th through 12 grades. Ms. Gallup promotes learning with creativity combined with solid technical career skill sets using the Adobe Creative Suite CC software. Ms. Gallup graduated from North Carolina State University's College of Design with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Visual Design. She also earned an Associates of Applied Science degree from Wake Technical Community College in Internet (Web) Technologies. Ms. Gallup's teaching experience includes five years at the community college level at Wake Technical Community College and Rockingham Community College. Ms. Gallup has taught college courses in Computer Business, Graphic Design, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Web Coding (HTML5, XHTML, CSS), Web Graphics, and Multimedia. Through the North Carolina college credit Huskins program, she instructed Graphic Design at East Wake High School - Integrated Technologies (Wendell, NC). For the 2014-2015 school year, Ms. Gallup welcomed 100+ enthusiastic students to her Digital Media Mac lab classes at Millbrook High School (Wake County Public School System) Raleigh, NC). As a design professional, Ms. Gallup brings to her Digital Media classroom over 16 years of skills expertise and management experience in graphic and web design, advertising media, and marketing to small businesses, government workplaces and the corporate environment. She has been employed with an advertising agency as graphic artist, art director and print production manager; with a federal health research institute (NIEHS) as the graphics division manager; with IBM Print Production division as graphic designer, and as Advertising/Marketing Manager for a local retail business. |
